Dick Morgan has more than 40 years of multi-functional line management experience. In addition, he is a Certified Management Consultant. He founded his consulting firm in early 1989.
Dick is a native Texan, but widely traveled...having lived in or around San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York City, Boston, and now Dallas. He married Doris, his high school sweetheart, in California 46 years ago. He has two married daughters and two young grandsons. When he is not working with clients, Dick enjoys travel, family activities, golf, bridge games, attending local theater productions, and enhancing his understanding of wine...California wines in particular.
Dick is an avid reader. In addition to business-related books, he enjoys biographies, Tom Clancy, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Clive Cussler, W.E.B. Griffin, Tony Hillerman, and especially 18th and 19th century naval history and naval fiction.
As Senior Vice President Marketing, he led the revenue growth of Long Mile Rubber Company from $17 million to more than $75 million (against stiff competition) during fifteen years with that firm. Dick was actively involved in strategic planning and general management. Preparation of business plans, acquisition studies, and two LBO opportunities added depth.
Earlier, Dick was responsible for all commercial marketing efforts in New England for Mobil Oil Corporation. In prior positions, he directed Mobil's U.S. general aviation marketing program, and was a successful marketing representative in California.
Dick graduated with honors in business administration from California State Polytechnic University and also holds an A.A. in engineering from Fullerton College. He was educated in advanced marketing and management techniques, and as a lubrication engineer by Mobil Oil.
His marketing and business management articles appear nationally in Modern Tire Dealer magazine and other publications.
