The Ideavirus...it's spreading rapidly! (FREE GIFT included)

Unleashing the Ideavirus, by Seth Godin, may very well change your whole perspective about successful marketing in today's plugged in society. Godin's free electronic 'manifesto' makes a strong case for reexamining many of the "marketing truisms" of past decades. We've gone from working the farm to efficient factories, and now to ideas. Ideas now drive our economy and truly unique ideas are making people rich! The faster you can get people to accept and act on your idea the more powerful and profitable you become. We have all experienced a bad cold...a physical virus. Someone sneezes and BOOM, you get their illness. :o( In today's plugged-in world, an idea can spread just as fast and to so many more people than ever before.

Let's say you have a great idea. You decide to write an essay laying out your compelling story, how to implement it, and the benefits to be gained. You e-mail it to the people in your address book. They like your idea and they, in turn, send it to people in their address book, who send it to their contacts, etc. Like a physical virus, your idea quickly spreads far and wide over the Internet, augmenting normal word-of-mouth communication with word-of-mouse communication! Your compelling idea explodes across a targeted population, changing the way large groups of people think about your topic.

A prime example of an ideavirus in action is Hotmail, the free e-mail service. Whereas radio took 38 years to achieve 50 million listeners and TV took 13 years to achieve 50 million viewers, the Internet had 50 million on-line users in 5 years and Hotmail hit 50 million subscribers in only 1 year. Hotmail did no expensive TV advertising. Hotmail was a successful ideavirus!

Ideas no longer travel from village to village, they travel at the speed of light to every GPS point on the planet! Ideaviruses, like physical viruses, are transmitted from consumer to consumer, without interruption or other action by the original owner of the idea. Most of the accepted methods of marketing communication are rooted in the concept of communicating to individual prospects. Ideaviruses rely on communication between prospects and users, a whole different idea that has been promoted effectively as an ideavirus itself by Godin's e-book. The usual methods of marketing communication (direct mail, PR, advertising, telemarketing, etc.) are still useful tools in the right hands, but augmenting them with the ideavirus concept may accelerate acceptance and speed profitable growth.

There's much more to this revolutionary idea! My FREE GIFT to you is to provide the link that will take you to the free electronic version of Unleashing the Ideavirus by Seth Godin, the guy who invented Yahoo.com. You can get the most powerful marketing e-book available as a free pdf download, or you can order the book in hard cover or paperback from Amazon.com. Go to www.ideavirus.com and scroll down to the little blue button on the right that says "Not convinced? Preview it FREE...click here." You can then download the 197 page e-book in Adobe Acrobat pdf format. If you don't have Adobe Acrobat Reader software, you can obtain a free copy of the program from www.adobe.com. Happy Holidays!

Smiles make the day!
Huh? Sometimes attempts to communicate get a little crazy:

"Where we all think alike, no one thinks very much" Walter Lippman

► "Women's dresses are merely variations on the eternal struggle between the admitted desire to dress and the unadmitted desire to undress." Lin Yutang

► "People will buy anything that's one to a customer." Sinclair Lewis

► "It has been my experience that folks who have no vices have very few virtues." Abe Lincoln

► "Be yourself!" is about the worst advice you can give to some people. Tom Masson, American humorist

► "I don't make jokes; I just watch the government and report the facts." Will Rogers

► "A love song is just a caress set to music." Sigmund Romberg, American composer

Amazing facts!

● Poll results: 25% of Americans believe in ghosts; 10% say they've seen one.

● It figures: Thomas Edison also invented the light socket and the light switch.

● Cherry is the most popular popsicle flavor.

● Polyester blue jeans bombed in the '70s because they wouldn't fade.

● Full-grown grizzly bears can bite through 1/2 inch steel...and car bodies.

● According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the average American marriage lasts 9.4 years. { :o(

P.S. Ninety-five percent of our engagements originate as a referral from helpful people like you! If you know someone who:

● Wants to develop a more productive marketing program, or

● Needs help building and implementing an effective operational business plan,

I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss the situation with you.

Our ideal client is a business owner or CEO between 30 and 60 years old. Usually with a financial, engineering, or production background. Who is often impatient, and interested in improving company performance. Comes alive when you ask, "How's business?" He, or she, is practical but also enjoys the finer things in life. So, you may see my ideal client driving a Lexus or SUV to Neiman Marcus...and to Sam's Club. Who do you know that fits my description?

Tortilla Soup for the Soul

Cold weather is the perfect time to make tortilla soup. I have been working for years toward the perfect tortilla soup recipe. This 2003 version adds grated carrots and ground cumin, plus an alternate method for preparing the tortillas, eliminating frying the strips in oil. The work has been arduous but gratifying. I consider this advanced recipe suitable for sharing with close friends and business associates. Those who taste this version rave about its flavor and beg for seconds. A word of warning…this particular soup is very filling, so do not serve it along with a main course. It is the main course! My recipe may not yet be perfection, but I think you will agree that it is getting very close. Feel free to experiment and add your own touches. Most of allENJOY!

Señor Morgan’s Tortilla Soup

  • 6 Green Onions, chopped
  • 1 medium Onion, chopped
  • 2 cans diced Tomatoes
  • 4 ribs Celery, chopped
  • 1 small can of chopped Green Chilies
  • 1 Bell Pepper, chopped
  • 2 finely grated carrots
  • 2 Tbs. Vegetable Oil
  • 5 cans of Chicken Broth
  • 1 lb. Diced Chicken or Turkey (cook separately)
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • ˝ cup of fresh Cilantro, chopped
    (or ˝ tsp. Ground Coriander)
  • White or Black Pepper to taste
  • ˝ tsp ground cumin (or to your taste)
  • 12 Corn Tortillas, cut into 1/4 inch wide strips
  • 1 cup of Vegetable Oil (for frying tortilla strips)
  • 12 oz. Mozzarella or Jack Cheese, grated
  • 2 Tbs. Masa Harina (corn flour-optional)
  • PAM spray (if baking tortilla strips)

Condiments served separately and added to individual bowls of soup include:

  • Crisp Bacon, crumbled (I use Turkey Bacon)
  • Avocado, diced
  • Sour Cream (fat free is okay)
  • Fresh Cilantro, chopped
  • Tabasco Sauce

Sauté onions, tomatoes, celery, green chilies, carrots and bell pepper in 2 Tbs. of vegetable oil until soft. Remove sautéed ingredients with slotted spoon and set aside.

Fry tortilla strips in 1 cup of vegetable oil until crisp and brown. Drain tortilla strips well on paper towels. Or, you can place tortilla strips on cookie sheets, spray with PAM and bake @ 375 degrees until crisp and golden brown.

Bring chicken broth to a boil and add sautéed vegetables, diced cooked chicken or turkey, tortilla strips, bay leaf, cilantro, cumin, and pepper. In a cup, slowly add water to masa flour and stir to make a medium-thick paste. Add masa paste to soup to ‘tighten’ and flavor. Simmer covered for at least 30 minutes.

Place soup in individual bowls and top with grated cheese. Serve with the condiments so everyone can add the items they like to the soup. Now, savor the elixir of tortillas!

Serves 4 to 6. Can be frozen and reheated.
